Nor-Lake Selected for Refrigeration Design New Minnesota Multi-Purpose Stadium

by Sep 09, 2015

Nor-Lake was selected to supply a major refrigeration design project for the Minnesota Multi-Purpose Stadium (home of the Minnesota Vikings). Nor-Lake was selected to manufacture 37 walk-in coolers and freezers that were designed and engineered around the unique geometry of the stadium. Nor-Lake also supplied the majority of the walk-in refrigeration systems for the project.

The walk-in coolers and freezers comprised a total footprint of 12,000 square feet. Many were specifically designed with pallet-supported structures to put no load on the Stadium. Nor-Lake worked with Ricca Design Studios, an award-winning design consultant, on the project, and Stafford-Smith, a nationally recognized leader in the foodservice equipment business and expert in large venue projects, was the Stadium’s food service equipment dealer. Nor-Lake had previously completed several other large-scale, complex stadium projects, including those for the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, and Minnesota Twins.

“This project demonstrates Nor-Lake’s engineering expertise in providing complex solutions for very large refrigeration projects,” said Chuck Dullea, President, Standex Refrigeration Group.  “Nor-Lake met the challenge to provide more than three dozen walk in coolers and freezers to fit in very irregular spaces and with no load on the stadium structure. We are honored by the trust that the Minnesota Multi-Purpose Stadium, Stafford-Smith and Ricca Design Studios has placed in our custom design capabilities, and the confidence they have in our high level of customer service and delivery performance.”
